A few things to share.

First of all, how are you all? I hope you are all doing well. Second, Michaels has paper for $0.16 or 6 for $0.96, this is the cheapest they sell it!! Third, Joanns has velum paper for 40% off, so its $0.99, you can get it for $.60 for an 8.5X11 or 12X12 for $1.20 regular $1.99.  As you can see I made this lantern using the velum paper. If you have cricut & SCAL2, or other cutting machine you can find this lantern at svgcuts.com <<< they are awesome!! So, I hope you guys enjoy this post. I have several projects I will be posting soon.

I used metallic brown paper for the lantern & floral velum paper. I embossed using the cuttlebug. Not sure about the name of the cuttlebug folder. Inside, you can add those flickering flameless candles.

As always, have a fantastic day.

Easter Projects

I am inviting my neighbors to my house on Easter.  They have four kids ages 2-14.  I am making them baskets with treats in them.  I bought this file through svgcuts.com. They have amazing kits, please visit them! The beauty of using svg files from this company is that I do not have to wory about resizing. The only thing you have to do is come up with the colors and patterns. FYI: this is for those of you who use SCAL2 with cricut, or other cutting machine. I hope you enjoy these projects.

Valentine Goodies

Valentines is such a great day to express your love to others. My twins are 14 (almost 15) and they don't get as excited as I do. These Valentine goodies are skittles and skittle sours candy boxes. I wrapped them with valentine paper from Michaels, Recollection brand. The teddy bears and heart balloons are from svgcuts.com FREE files!! I love their cuts! I cut the bear at 3.5 inches, and the balloon was 4.5X2, I think.
These were dropped off at their school and anonymously delivered to them during their 3rd period. I know they felt special when they received them...

Hope you enjoy this craft!

SCAL2 & CCR Who Knew?

When I downloaded SCAL a few years ago, I was so happy with it. I used it more than I used my carts. I loved the idea of creating my own designs.  When I updated to SCAL2, I was even happier. It was much better than SCAL1. Then I heard about the Provo craft lawsuit… YIKES! Drama in the Crafting world was unexpected.  So, fearing losing SCAL2 I never updated my Cricut Expression.

When I heard about Cricut Craft Room, I searched and searched for information regarding using SCAL2 & CCR.  I was afraid that I was going to lose SCAL if I downloaded CCR so I never did it.  When I got my Imagine for Christmas I did not really enjoy it.  I felt limited.  My husband even asked my why I did not use it. I realized that it was because I was too used to creating on my computer.
On Super Bowl weekend, I told my husband that I was going to craft and I will only leave my craft room when I needed a refill on wings and pizza.  This is when I downloaded CCR and updated my Imagine.  All went well with the updates and downloads.  So, I played with CCR and really fell in love with it.
Today… I plugged in my E and guess what? I cut with SCAL2!
In conclusion, I have both CCR and SCAL2 on my PC and I can use both of them, however, SCAL2 will only cut with the E and CCR will only cut with Imagine.  That is exactly how I wanted it!
Sorry for the long post, I just hope this helps someone!
Have a great day Crafty Crafters J

Happy Birdie To You!

As a crafter, I fancy myself an artist. So when someone requested that I make them a birthday card, I was flattered. I wanted to make something cute and unique. A few months ago I received a free font set from lettering delights. I was afraid to use it because I had to do a lot of "break apart" on SCAL. Today, I tried it and had a lot of fun. Here is the card "Happy Birdie to You". I got this image from letteringdelights.com. I used a "birthday" folder from Cuttlebug. I hope you enjoy this card.
Have a great day!

I am back!

Apologizes to all my readers who actually care about my crafting, but I took some time off.  I had to regroup, reorganize, and get re-inspired.  I am sure some of you know what I mean by this.  Anyways, I wanted to start this blog by showing you a personal project that I worked very hard on.  It is a chip board album that I made for my sisters birthday. This album took forever to make but I had the best time making it.

I hope you enjoy this project. If you have questions, please facebook me or comment. I will respond.

Have a Great DAY!

Love is in the air!

Just made this card using Imagine Better Together cart for the clouds and sun. The clougs are the top of a cupcake... so please do not look for a cloud on that cart lol.  I used my Expression & SCAL2 to cut out the heart border. I just used stock hearts that it comes with. I used swirls cuttlebug folder and Recollection glitter. I distressed with tim holtz. I hope you enjoy this card.
Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great day!

I know my e is lopsided.. lol. I need to add more popdots.

Very Simple Accordion Fold Card

I made this super simple card.  The accordion folded paper is 3x12, scored at every ½ score line on MS Score pad. You can pretty much fold however you want.  I just made a few different folds and this I liked this one.  I also used a floral cuttlebug folder (not sure what the name is).  The card is standard A2 size. I hope you try this out and share your card with me.

Thanks for checking my blog out! Have a great day!

You Make My Heart Sing! with Imagine & Better Together

And Tags Bags Boxes and More! Well, I am having so much fun using TBB&M. Wont lie, I had lost it for a few months (unorganized craftroom) and I offered my twins an extended curfew if they found it. So... they did! I used the heart purse and fit to paged it on a 11X8.5 (65lbs) cardstock paper.  If you are wondering about the 65lbs paper... so am I. I just remember seeing it on a cricut tutorial, they said to use "65lbs cardstock or better" So when I purchase my paper that is what I look for. It really does print nicer than paper I have used before.

Well, I used Better Together for the image and I cut it at 1.5 in.  The border was also pattern paper from BT and I just traced it using my heart purse and cut.

As you can see I am obssed with TULLE right now.  I simply use my ATG gun and Zotz to make a ruffle. Its a bit of work but I love the end result.

I will add you as a friend if you request.

Have a great day!

Gone Wild Card

Here is a new card I made for a challenge on the Cricut Community website. I got the Gone Wild stack on my birthday and I was dying to use the peacock paper.  I also bought a cuttlebug folder set which included zebra, snake, cheetah, and peacock. The peacock is sooo pretty!

So.. after a lot of thought this is what I came up with. I hope you all enjoy this card.

I Love You Berry Much Box

Hello Crafters! Here is a box I made using Cricut Imagine More & Tabs Bags Boxes and More Cartridges. I cut the box hitting the fit to page feature. The box cut out at 2.25X2.25. I used the scallop circle that comes with the machine and cut it at 2 in. The strawberry was cut at 1.75 in. I distressed the edges of the box, the strawberry, tag, and scal. circle using Tim Holtz distress inc. I also added Recollection glitter to my strawberry top (I used two different greens). If you have further questions about this project please facebook me at http://www.facebook.com/#!/vhallgren1

Hope you enjoy this project!!

It was recently insinuated that I am a paper hoarder. This insinuation is correct and it took my nephews remark for me to realize this. So… I decided to go through my paper and chose paper that I felt I would never use.  The green and blue polka dotted pattern on this paper matched perfect with paper I use a lot. I used green and blue tulle to adorn the bottom of my pattern paper. The “adore” is a free download from svgcuts.com << check them out, they are AWESOME!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this card, its dedicated to my whole family, including my husbands family.

Have a great day!

Congrats baby card

Here is a card I made for a client of mine who just had a cute baby girl. I added tulle on the card because I noticed that other craters had been using it on their cards. I have been working with tulle for a long time but I used them to wrap Easter baskets with. They made them look ten times cuter than using cellophane plastic. Anyway, if you want more info on this card, facebook me at  http://www.facebook.com/#!/vhallgren1

I hope you enjoy this card!

I am BACK! Happy New Years!

Well I was unmotivated to create since I got my Imagine, but I believe it is because I allowed it to create for me! I fet I was not expressing my own creativity. So for the past two days I have been working on these pop up cards that I want to use for my moms birthday party. The flowers are cut with my Imagine and I am inlove with them because they are super cute.  The border was cut with a border punch that I got for Xmas.

I had so much fun making them and I know everyone will be excited to get them in July. If anyone wants any information on these cards please facebook me at http://www.facebook.com/#!/vhallgren1 request me as a friend.

I hope you enjoy this card!

PS. For those of you who read Spanish, this is just a trial card, the Spanish errors will be corrected ;)

Happy New Years!!
